“Using the time wisely during the COVID-19 pandemic – Experiences and perspectives of young people in the Western Balkans”

This activity is part of a webinar series which aims to bring together young people of the Western Balkans sharing experiences and perspectives related to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on remote study skills, productivity, innovation, and resilience building. 

The first webinar focused on Albania intends to foster discussions on challenges and opportunities, to provide examples of how the COVID-19 pandemic is reshaping our education and our future, to share experiences on time management for achieving study-life balance, as well as to give insights on innovative and successful approaches to studying, research and adaptation to dynamic situations.


– Klejda Harasani from the University of Medicine Tirana will make a short introduction of WBAA and the current project. She will analyze the response to the challenges faced by Higher Education Institutions during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as share her experience as a young researcher with practical tips to increase productivity while working from home.

– Blerina Vrenozi from the University of Tirana will report preliminary results of the survey among professors and students regarding remote teaching and learning. She will give helpful examples and innovative approaches related to the supervision of Master students and thesis preparation during the lockdown. 

– Klaudjo Kavaja will discuss new technologies aiming to assist communication between students and academic staff and will share the creation of a podcast during the confinement period, “The Living Education” which addresses various topics about education and training in English. 

– Teuta Nunaj from Barleti University will discuss the skills for building resilience as a way to cope with the sudden loss of structure and established routine, students´ challenges with studying at home and maintaining a virtual class schedule, sharing real-life experience with remote and blended learning.  

– Indrit Seferi as a representative from MAYA (Medical Association Youth Albania) will report their efforts and contribution during the current pandemic in Albania, focusing on medical students´ engagement as volunteers and the way it is shaping their training as future doctors.
