1st General Assembly
Dear WBAA member,
We are happy to announce that the 1st General Assembly of the Western Balkans Alumni Association will take place in Tirana, Albania, on 15-16 March 2019, and will start with a welcome reception and dinner on 14 March at the MAK Albania Hotel.
The 1st WBAA General Assembly will bring together close to 150 of the most motivated WBAA members from across the region. Over the span of two days, you will receive an update on the current state and progress of the association and engage in various sessions and cultural activities which should help you make new connections and support WBAA in shaping its future development. More information will follow once your registration is completed.

Travel – Getting to the 1st General Assembly

Important: Private buses will be organised for the transportation of participants from Kosovo*, Montenegro and North Macedonia. The buses will leave from each capital city in the afternoon of 14 March, in order to arrive in Tirana in time for dinner at 19:00. Please select “Travel by bus” in the list of the registration form below to secure a seat. The detailed itinerary and schedule will be communicated to you after your registration.
No private buses will be organised for participants coming from other countries (namely Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia). Participants should choose their preferred travel option among the following: plane/car/train or public bus/none.
The same applies to participants coming from one of the European countries.
* This designation is without prejudice to positions on status and is in line with UNSCR 1244/1999 and the ICJ Opinion on the Kosovo declaration of independence.
For Self-funded participants:
Please note that you are responsible for making your own travel and accommodation arrangements, which will not be covered by the European Commission.
The General Assembly will take place at MAK Albania Hotel in Tirana, from 15 to 16 March 2019. It will start with dinner on Thursday 14 March at 19:00 in the restaurant of the hotel. The event will end on Saturday, 16 March around 13:30.
We recommend booking your travel arrangements accordingly.
