From Mobility to Impact: Discovering Erasmus+ and WBAA through Experience

On 26 June 2026, the city of Štip, North Macedonia, will host the local WBAA event “From Mobility to Impact: Discovering Erasmus+ and WBAA through Experience”, organised in tandem with the Regional Training supported by the Erasmus+ Support Service Team. The event aims to raise awareness among university students about Erasmus+ mobility opportunities while promoting WBAA as a platform for networking, advocacy, professional development and continued alumni engagement.

The activity will bring together students, Erasmus+ alumni, WBAA members, and invited Board Members in an interactive and participatory environment designed to encourage dialogue, cooperation and active involvement in higher education and youth-related topics.

The programme will begin with an information session introducing participants to Erasmus+ mobility opportunities and the benefits of becoming involved in WBAA after completing a mobility experience. Participants will learn more about the academic, professional and personal impact of international mobility, as well as the opportunities that alumni networks provide for long-term engagement, leadership and intercultural cooperation.

An important part of the event will be the “Successful Stories Panel”, where invited WBAA Board Members and Erasmus+ alumni will share their personal experiences, challenges and professional journeys connected to international mobility and active participation in alumni initiatives. Through direct interaction and discussion, students will gain first-hand insight into the transformative impact of Erasmus+ and the importance of staying engaged within the wider Erasmus+ community.

The central activity of the event will be an interactive higher education policy simulation and moderated debate. Participants will be divided into stakeholder groups representing different perspectives and interests related to higher education and international mobility. Through discussion, negotiation, lobbying and collaborative decision-making, participants will work together to address higher education-related challenges and better understand the dynamics of policy discussions, advocacy and institutional cooperation.

To further strengthen interaction and engagement, the event will include a dedicated networking and lobbying coffee break integrated into the simulation process, allowing participants to continue discussions informally, build alliances, exchange ideas and strengthen their arguments in preparation for the second phase of the debate.

The activity will conclude with a guided reflection session focused on the importance of active participation, alumni engagement and youth involvement in higher education development. Participants will reflect on the competences gained throughout the event, including communication, teamwork, negotiation, critical thinking, advocacy and leadership skills.

By combining information sharing, experiential learning and alumni engagement, the event aims to create a motivating and inspiring environment that encourages students to participate in Erasmus+ mobility opportunities and become active members and ambassadors of WBAA in the future.
