WBAA Supports Stakeholder Engagement Event in Belgrade
On 9 June 2025, a high-level Stakeholder Engagement Event was successfully held at the Falkensteiner Hotel in Belgrade, bringing together a diverse group of participants including university professors, policymakers, Erasmus alumni representatives, the Erasmus+ National Agency ("Tempus") team, and members of the EU Delegation to Serbia. This event, hosted by the Erasmus Mundus Association (EMA), aimed to spark meaningful dialogue and inspire sustainable collaboration across academia, industry, and decision-making bodies.
WBAA was represented by several local members, with Mr Milan Stojanović, current Regional WBAA Board Member and Country Representative for Serbia within EMA, serving as host. His active involvement reinforced WBAA’s commitment to fostering regional and global partnerships rooted in the Erasmus+ legacy.
The agenda featured a round-table discussion titled "Empowering Talent, Bridging Worlds", which highlighted case studies and strategies for strengthening sustainable partnerships between the academic, public, and private sectors. The session drew on Balkan experiences to address global challenges, with panels including senior academics, a diplomat, a government official, researchers, and EMA leaders. The discussion was followed by an open forum emphasising the shared responsibility of all stakeholders in supporting globally-minded talent.
Several new agreements were made during the event, confirming the willingness of stakeholders to translate ideas into joint action. These included commitments to future cooperation initiatives involving alumni networks, mobility programs, and enhanced institutional collaboration.
On the margins of the official programme, Mr Stojanović warmly welcomed and guided EMA representatives from around the world through Belgrade and Novi Sad, proudly showcasing Serbia’s cultural and academic richness. He was especially honoured to host nearly the entire current EMA leadership, along with the newly elected EMA President and Vice President.
